Ajalorun of Ijebu Ife to Host Grand Reception Honouring Rear Admiral Kolawole Oguntuga
Ijebu Ife, Nigeria – February 12, 2025 – The historic town of Ijebu Ife is set to host a distinguished gathering as His Royal Highness, Oba Adesesan Afolorunso Oguntayo, FCA, The Ajalorun of Ijebu Ife (Ogbagba Agbaotewole the 42nd), leads a grand reception in honour of Rear Admiral Kolawole Olumide Oguntuga.
The prestigious event, organized by the Planning Committee in collaboration with the Erelu descendants, will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Ajalorun Palace, Ijebu Ife, at 11:00 a.m. It will bring together high-ranking government officials, revered traditional rulers, senior military officers, and distinguished personalities to celebrate the naval officer’s outstanding career.
Dignitaries Expected at the Event
The ceremony will be attended by a host of eminent personalities, including:

Rear Admiral Kolawole Olumide Oguntuga, a distinguished naval officer, hails from a lineage of leadership and service. A proud descendant of Erelu and grandson of the Iyalode of Ijebu Ife, his rise to the rank of Rear Admiral is a testament to his dedication, professionalism, and patriotism. He continues the legacy of his late father, Chief Duro Fatai Oguntuga, the immediate past Balogun (Warlord) of Ijebu Ife, known for his unwavering commitment to the community.
