Excitement in Orumba South as Governor Soludo Completes 40.6km Road Project
Residents of Orumba South Local Government Area (LGA) are celebrating as Governor Charles Soludo delivers a massive 40.6km road project, marking another milestone in his administration’s commitment to infrastructural transformation across Anambra State.
The newly completed roads, which cover 12 of the 15 communities in Orumba South, have significantly enhanced connectivity and improved the daily lives of residents. The roads include:
- 16.4km Ajalli-Akpu-Nawfija Road
- 12.5km Ezira-Umuomaku-Enugu Umuonyia-Achina Road
- 4.2km Eziagu-Umunze Road
- 7.8km Achina-Onne-Agbudu-Ogboji Road (linking Aguata and Orumba South)
A Commitment to Inclusive Development
According to Ogechukwu Ibemesi, Director General of Solution in the Hinterland, Governor Soludo’s infrastructural agenda is bridging gaps and fostering inclusivity. He emphasized that the governor’s focus on rural development is transforming neglected areas into thriving communities, bringing tangible progress to regions long left behind.
This commitment was echoed by Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, who described Soludo’s vision as one that aims to make Anambra a destination of choice by ensuring that every part of the state experiences growth and prosperity.
Strategic Visit and Future Projects
During a recent strategic visit to Orumba South, Governor Soludo reaffirmed his dedication to infrastructural development, unveiling new projects aimed at further improving economic opportunities and security in the region.
Among the key announcements were plans for the construction of a road linking St. Augustine Rest Assured Hotel to Community High School and the Umunze Ultra-Modern Market. This crucial road will ease movement for residents and visitors while strengthening the connection between Umunze and the Umuchu Bye-Pass Road.
In addition, Governor Soludo revealed ambitious plans to develop major tourism attractions in the region, including:
- Owerre-Ezukalla Waterfall and Cave
- Ogbunike Cave
These projects are aimed at boosting tourism, creating jobs, and driving economic growth, further positioning Orumba South as a key player in Anambra’s development landscape.
