First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Commended for Boosting Nigeria’s Foreign Investment Drive

 The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON with the Honorable Minister of Trade and Investments, Mrs Jumoke Oduwole when the Minister paid a courtesy visit to the First Lady at the State House, Abuja on Tuesday 18th March, 2025

Abuja, March 18, 2025– Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been lauded for her role in promoting soft diplomacy, which is enhancing the country’s efforts to attract and sustain foreign direct investment (FDI).  

The commendation came from the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, during a courtesy visit to the First Lady at the State House in Abuja.  

Dr. Oduwole praised Senator Tinubu’s eloquence and diplomatic engagements on the international stage, citing her recent representation of Nigeria in Addis Ababa as a significant boost to the nation’s image.  

*"When you have a First Lady who is articulate, intelligent, and represents the country well, it is a major advantage. Her engagements at international forums and her upcoming hosting of several First Ladies further solidify Nigeria’s presence on the global stage,"* the Minister stated.  

Beyond diplomacy, Dr. Oduwole highlighted Senator Tinubu’s impactful humanitarian efforts through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI). She commended the First Lady’s dedication to poverty reduction and her outreach programs, which benefit rural communities nationwide.  

The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to prosperity and expressed readiness to collaborate with the First Lady in areas that require mutual support. She also underscored the importance of leveraging the First Lady’s influence in engaging with traditional rulers to drive development initiatives.  

Describing her meeting with the First Lady as insightful and enriching, Dr. Oduwole noted that it would serve as a foundation for deeper collaboration between her ministry and RHI, with a focus on delivering services to vulnerable communities.

The First Lady also held a closed-door meeting with the Minister before their discussions, signaling a strengthened partnership aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
