Hon. Olowa Hosts Annual Ramadan Lecture, Calls for National Prayers
Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, under the leadership of Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, hosted its annual Ramadan lecture on March 27, 2025, at the Council Secretariat. This year’s event, themed Love in Islam, served as a platform for spiritual enlightenment, communal bonding, and prayers for national progress.
During his address, Hon. Olowa expressed gratitude to attendees and urged Islamic clerics to offer prayers for the President of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor, His Excellency Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, elected representatives of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, community leaders, traditional rulers, and residents of the Council Area.
The event received significant support from Mr. Seyi Tinubu, who generously donated 200 bags of 10kg rice, spaghetti, vegetable oil, and sugar to support the program.
The lecture featured prominent Islamic scholars, including Fadilat (Sheikh) Abdu-Semiu Opeloyeru, President of Grand Chief Imams, and Alhaji Idunu Fatai Sekere, Chief Missioner of the Ibeju-Lekki Chapter. Both clerics emphasized the importance of love, kindness, and selflessness during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The gathering was enriched with Qur’anic recitations and special prayers, reinforcing the essence of Ramadan as a time of devotion and charity. Attendees left the event with food packs, symbolizing the spirit of giving and community welfare.
Hon. Olowa’s administration remains committed to fostering spiritual growth, education, and social cohesion through initiatives like the annual Ramadan lecture, which continues to serve as a cornerstone of faith and unity in Ibeju-Lekki.
