Hon. Sola Giwa Urges Road Safety as He Congratulates Muslims on Eid-el-Fitr
Lagos, Nigeria – The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa, has extended warm congratulations to Muslim faithful across the state as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In his message, Hon. Giwa commended the resilience, discipline, and spiritual dedication exhibited by Muslims during the fasting period. He emphasized that the values of love, sacrifice, and unity cultivated throughout Ramadan should extend beyond the celebrations and reflect in daily interactions.

“As we commemorate this significant occasion, I urge all Lagosians—especially road users—to practice patience, courtesy, and civic responsibility. Let us carry the discipline of Ramadan into our everyday engagements, including how we conduct ourselves on the roads,” he stated.

Hon. Giwa also called for increased vigilance and adherence to road safety measures, particularly during the festive period, when vehicular movement is typically high. He advised motorists, commercial drivers, and commuters to strictly follow traffic regulations to prevent accidents and reduce congestion.

“I strongly appeal to all road users to comply with traffic laws, avoid reckless driving, and cooperate with traffic management officials to ensure a smooth and accident-free celebration,” he urged.

Reiterating the Lagos State Government’s commitment to ensuring seamless mobility and road safety, Hon. Giwa encouraged residents to report road incidents or obstructions that could disrupt traffic flow through LASTMA’s toll-free hotline: 080000527862.

He extended his best wishes to all Muslim faithful for a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr, reminding them to celebrate responsibly while contributing to the collective goal of making Lagos a safer and more orderly city.
