FRSC Strengthens Leadership as SGF Approves Promotion of Three Deputy Corps Marshals Across Geopolitical Zones

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has taken a bold step to bolster its leadership capacity following the approval of the promotion of three Assistant Corps Marshals (ACMs) to the rank of Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM) by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.

The announcement, which was contained in a statement e-signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, was made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP). According to the statement, the new appointments are aimed at filling existing vacancies in the South South, North East, and North West geopolitical zones.

The newly promoted officers are:

• DCM Aliyu Datsama, fsi – representing the North West zone. Until his promotion, he served as the Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Special Duties and External Relations. A seasoned road safety expert, Datsama has served in various capacities, including Sector and Zonal Commanding Officer roles across different states and zones.

• DCM Pauline Olaye – representing the South East zone. She currently heads the Project Implementation Office at the FRSC National Headquarters. With this promotion, Olaye becomes the most senior female officer in the Corps. She has held several leadership roles, including ACM, Special Duties and External Relations Department, and Zonal Commanding Officer, Zone RS1HQ Kaduna.

• DCM Attahiru T. Hassan, fdc – representing the North East zone. He was previously the Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of the Technical Service Department. A well-respected professional within the Corps, Hassan has served in roles such as Corps Provost and Sector Commander.

Senator Akume emphasized that the appointments are in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s commitment to rewarding excellence, dedication, and hard work under the “Hope Agenda” of his administration. He expressed confidence that the new appointees will bring valuable insights and expertise to FRSC’s leadership, furthering its mission to improve road safety and reduce accidents across the country.

Congratulating the officers, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed commended their performance and dedication during the selection process. He reminded them that higher ranks come with increased responsibilities and encouraged them to exhibit greater focus, commitment, and passion in their new roles.

Mohammed also reassured all FRSC personnel of ongoing efforts to improve staff welfare and urged those not promoted to remain committed and loyal, with the hope of future recognition.

The latest appointments underscore the FRSC’s continued drive toward operational excellence and strategic leadership renewal across its command structure.
