Zion Ministry Launches First Orphanage and Old People’s Home in Imo State

In a landmark move aimed at transforming care for the less privileged, Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, a non-denominational Christian ministry, has unveiled Imo State’s first-ever combined Orphanage and Old People’s Home.

The facility, named Seraphic Home, is situated in Mgbirichi, Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area, near the state capital, Owerri. It was officially commissioned on Monday by the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Uzodimma lauded the Spiritual Director of the ministry, Evangelist Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, for his vision and commitment to humanitarian service. He described the initiative as a "watershed moment" in the care and support of vulnerable populations within the state.

“I am proud of Evangelist Ebuka for thinking home and choosing Imo for such a noble project,” the governor said. “This development aligns with the state’s vision of social welfare and has further positioned Imo for global recognition. It also validates the foresight behind the decision to allocate land to the ministry for their headquarters in Ngor Okpala.”

In his welcome address, Evangelist Obi explained that the home was established to cater to orphans and elderly persons who lack family support, offering them free accommodation, care, and essential services.

“This state-of-the-art facility provides shelter, food, clothing, education, and healthcare for those in need,” he stated. “We are committed to ensuring that no elderly person or orphan is left without care, and this home is our first step in expanding that mission across Nigeria.”

He emphasized that the facility would not only serve as a haven for the vulnerable but also as a hub for community engagement, volunteerism, and caregiver training, providing opportunities for skills development and capacity building.

The Seraphic Home is managed by the Seraphic Foundation, the charitable arm of the Zion Ministry, which also runs various social intervention programmes. These include educational scholarships for over 60 children annually and financial aid for individuals unable to afford critical medical treatment or hospital bills.

The ministry expressed its commitment to replicating similar projects in other regions of the country to extend its reach and impact.

With this new development, Zion Prayer Movement Outreach continues to set a standard in faith-based humanitarian service, championing the cause of the underprivileged and bringing hope to communities across Nigeria.
