 AMA Unity Cup Trophy Presented to Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Chairman Ahead of August Kickoff

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the AMA Unity Cup and the AMA Smile Foundation have presented the official tournament trophy to the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, ahead of the football competition scheduled to commence in August.

The symbolic presentation took place on Thursday at the Conference Room of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Secretariat, where Chairman Aroyewun received members of the delegation and applauded the initiative of the lawmaker representing Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA).

The AMA Unity Cup is designed to promote unity, discover football talents, and positively engage young people across communities in Ikorodu Constituency II through sports.

Speaking during the presentation, Aroyewun described the tournament as a commendable platform for youth development, healthy competition, and community integration. He noted that the initiative would strengthen the bond among residents while providing opportunities for aspiring footballers to showcase their talents.

The council chairman also commended Hon. Abiodun for his commitment to people-oriented programmes, saying the lawmaker has consistently demonstrated dedication to the welfare and development of constituents through impactful grassroots initiatives.

Among those present at the event were the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Olowu; the Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Qudus Oduntan; the Director-General of the AMA Smile Foundation, Mr. Adewale Bolowotan; members of the Executive Cabinet of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA; officials of the AMA Smile Foundation; members of the AMA Unity Cup Local Organising Committee; and delegates from across Ikorodu Constituency II.

Aroyewun thanked the delegation for the courtesy visit and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to collaborating with individuals and organisations whose programmes promote youth empowerment, grassroots sports development, and stronger community cohesion within Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and the wider Ikorodu Division.

The AMA Unity Cup is expected to kick off in August, with participating teams from communities across Ikorodu Constituency II competing for honours while advancing the objectives of unity, talent discovery, and youth engagement.
