JMG Commissions Hybrid Solar Power System at Victoria Island Branch, Targets ₦50m Annual Fuel Savings

JMG Limited has commissioned an advanced hybrid solar power system at its Victoria Island branch in Lagos, marking another step in the company's drive to promote sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions for businesses in Nigeria. The company said the installation will significantly reduce diesel consumption, lower operating costs and improve energy reliability while cutting carbon emissions.

JMG Limited has commissioned an advanced hybrid solar power system at its Victoria Island branch in Lagos, reinforcing its commitment to providing reliable, sustainable and cost-efficient energy solutions for businesses across Nigeria.

The newly installed system integrates 66kWp of high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) generation, 80kW of hybrid inverter capacity and 81.92kWh of lithium battery storage. According to the company, the fully integrated energy platform is designed to maximize power reliability while significantly reducing dependence on diesel-powered generators.

JMG disclosed that the system was engineered using advanced load analysis with Fluke Load Analyzer and PV system simulation software. It is projected to generate about 94.8MWh of clean electricity annually, supplying approximately 80 per cent of the branch's energy needs.

The company said the installation will offset an estimated 28,000 litres of diesel consumption each year, resulting in projected annual fuel cost savings of about ₦50 million. It is also expected to prevent more than 37 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions annually, contributing to environmental sustainability.

The hybrid power system features premium technologies, including LONGi solar modules, Deye hybrid inverters and Deye high-voltage lithium battery storage. These components provide intelligent energy management, seamless backup power and improved long-term operational efficiency.

Speaking on the project, JMG's Head of Solar Division, Hussein Abbas, said the company believes in demonstrating confidence in its products by deploying them within its own operations.

"At JMG, we believe the best way to demonstrate confidence in our solutions is to deploy them within our own operations. The Victoria Island Branch now serves as a real-world example of how businesses can improve energy reliability, reduce operating costs and accelerate their sustainability goals through intelligent hybrid power systems," Abbas said.

JMG noted that its Victoria Island branch will now serve as a live demonstration facility where customers, consultants and project developers can experience its commercial hybrid solar solutions operating in a real business environment.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting businesses with innovative renewable energy technologies that reduce operating costs, strengthen energy security and promote a more sustainable future.

JMG Solar, a division of JMG Limited, provides turnkey solar and hybrid energy solutions for commercial, industrial and institutional clients across Nigeria. Its services cover engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and after-sales support for integrated renewable energy systems.
