Akure, the capital city of Ondo State erupted in ecstacy today Tuesday 6th February 2024 as thousands of progressive youths took to the streets to stage a peaceful solidarity March in support of frontline Governorship aspirant in the state, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa.
Tagged "ONDO YOUTH MARCH FOR WALE AKINTERINWA", the walk started from Adegbemile Cultural Centre with thousands of youths and interest groups enthusiastically marching the streets of Akure galvanizing support for the WA Kajose progenitor amidst dancing and singing.
Our reporter gathered that participants of the march were drawn from among various youth groups across all local government in the state.
Speaking to our reporter shortly after the march, renowned media personality, Mr. Olalekan Oni described the march as unprecedented in the history of the capital city.
According to him , "the turn out for today's walk in support of the man popularly called the 'Chosen one', Mr. Wale Akinterinwa was a huge success and we thank God for that. The Walk was a voluntary effort from the youth of Ondo State and other lovers of good leadership which Wale Akinterinwa represents.
The outcome of today's event is a demonstration of the organic love Wale Akinterinwa enjoys among the youth and the people of Ondo State. It is also a further confirmation of his rating as the frontline contender for the Governorship seat of Ondo State in the coming elections. We want to seize this opportunity to express the appreciation of our Principal to all the progressive youths of our dear state who came out enmass today to show support for the most competent man for the job. By the grace of God, Akinterinwa will not disappoint us".
Though the walk was very peaceful, exciting and orderly with adequate security, most of Akure was practically on a lockdown for the better part of the day.
Popularly regarded as the 'chosen one', Wale Akinterinwa is aspiring to become the Governor of Ondo State on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election in the state.
His campaign slogan, WA Kajose on the lips of everyone today.
