 IGP Disu Appoints CSP Anietie Iniedu as New Force Public Relations Officer

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force.

The appointment was announced in a statement signed by the outgoing Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).

According to the statement, CSP Iniedu is a seasoned police officer with extensive experience in public communication, operational policing, intelligence management, institutional accountability, and administration.

A native of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, CSP Iniedu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo. He has also undergone several professional trainings in investigative interviewing, crime scene management, human rights-based policing, strategic communication, and intelligence analysis.

Before his appointment as Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Iniedu served as Head of the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where he coordinated public complaint management and spearheaded initiatives aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.

He previously served as the Public Relations Officer of the Police College of Information Technology, Kobape, Ogun State, among other operational and administrative assignments across the country.

Throughout his career, CSP Iniedu has held several strategic positions, including Operations Officer at Maisandari Division in Yobe State Command; Area Crime Officer at Umuahia Area Command in Abia State; Staff Officer at the IGP Secretariat, Force Headquarters; Second-in-Command of the 50 Police Mobile Force Squadron, Kubwa; and Officer-in-Charge of the Force Headquarters Situation Room, where he supervised the coordination and dissemination of crime and security information nationwide.

The statement noted that the Inspector-General of Police expressed confidence in CSP Iniedu's ability to lead the Force Public Relations Department, emphasizing that his wealth of experience and professional background would further strengthen the Force's strategic communication efforts, enhance public engagement, and support ongoing policing reforms.
