Access Emerges as Nigeria’s Largest Employer of CFA Candidates
Access has emerged as Nigeria’s largest employer of candidates pursuing the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification, according to a new ranking released by CFA Society Nigeria.
The ranking, published under CFA Society Nigeria’s Where Nigeria’s Finance Professionals Work series, shows that Access employs 82 CFA candidates, more than twice the number recorded by the next-ranked institution and the highest among organisations in Nigeria’s financial services industry.
The Group also ranked second among employers of CFA charterholders, highlighting its growing role in developing and retaining finance professionals with internationally recognised expertise.
The ranking was compiled using data from the CFA Society Nigeria Salesforce Membership Database as of June 2026.
Beyond the numbers, the recognition underscores the growing importance of professional development and technical expertise in Nigeria’s financial services sector, particularly as financial markets become more interconnected and institutions face increasing demands for stronger governance, risk management and innovation.
The CFA Charter is widely regarded as one of the most rigorous professional qualifications in investment management, covering areas including ethics, financial analysis, portfolio management and professional standards.
For Access, the recognition reflects its broader strategy of investing in professional development and building financial services talent across its operations.
The Group operates banking, pensions, payments, insurance brokerage and consumer lending businesses across 25 countries in Africa, Europe and Asia, with structured learning, professional certifications and leadership development forming part of its talent development strategy.
Commenting on the recognition, Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Innocent C. Ike, said the ranking reflects the organisation’s culture of continuous learning and professional excellence.
“We are proud that so many of our people are pursuing one of the most demanding professional qualifications in global finance, and that they are choosing to do it here, at Access,” Ike said.
He added that the ranking demonstrated the Group’s commitment to cultivating a culture where “rigour, integrity and continuous learning” are embedded in its daily operations.
According to the CFA Society Nigeria, the rankings recognise organisations that invest in professionals who bring rigour, integrity and global best practices into the workplace.
The society said such investments in talent development are becoming increasingly important to strengthening Nigeria’s financial sector and supporting Africa’s long-term economic ambitions.
Access said the recognition aligns with Access Holdings’ aspiration to become the world’s most respected African financial services group, with professional excellence positioned alongside business growth and expansion.
The Group’s growing pipeline of CFA candidates, it said, represents not only an internal talent-development achievement but also a contribution to raising professional standards within Nigeria’s financial services ecosystem.
As African financial institutions increasingly compete for capital, talent and international relevance, the ability to develop professionals equipped with globally recognised skills is expected to remain an important factor in strengthening the continent’s participation in global financial markets.
