 Igbogbo/Baiyeku Chairman Urges Unity, Peace as Muslims Celebrate Eid-el-Maulud


The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has felicitated Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to uphold the virtues of compassion, humility, justice, patience and peaceful coexistence exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).


Aroyewun, in his Eid-el-Maulud message, said the celebration of the birth of the Prophet should serve as an opportunity for Muslims and other members of society to reflect on his exemplary character and enduring lessons of service to humanity.


He cited Qur’an 33:56, which states: “Indeed, Allah showers His blessings upon the Prophet, and His angels pray for him. O believers! Invoke Allah’s blessings upon him, and salute him with worthy greetings of peace.”


The council chairman urged residents to use the occasion to strengthen the bonds of unity, promote peace and compassion within their communities and deepen their commitment to serving humanity.


He further called on Muslim faithful to emulate the noble character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by demonstrating tolerance, kindness, patience and respect for others.


“May this blessed occasion inspire us to emulate the noble character and exemplary life of the Prophet (SAW), strengthen our bonds of unity, promote peace and compassion in our communities, and deepen our commitment to serving humanity,” he said.


Aroyewun, on behalf of the Executive Council and the people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, wished Muslim faithful a peaceful, blessed and spiritually enriching Eid-el-Maulud celebration.


He concluded with prayers for continued peace, unity and progress across the community and the country.
