 LSSTF CEO Ogunsan Celebrates Tayo Ayinde at 62, Hails Him as Security Icon

The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, has congratulated the Lagos State Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde, on his 62nd birthday, describing him as a “security icon” and a dependable pillar of Lagos governance.

Ayinde, who is also a member of the LSSTF Board of Trustees, clocked 62 on Monday, August 24, 2026.

In a congratulatory message, Ogunsan commended Ayinde for his years of dedicated service to Lagos State, noting that his contributions to security, governance and public administration have made a significant impact on the state.

According to him, Ayinde’s experience in intelligence and security, combined with his political and administrative expertise, has positioned him as an invaluable asset to the Lagos State security architecture.

“Mr. Tayo Ayinde represents the rare combination of intelligence, discipline, political wisdom and loyalty to public service. His security background gives him a unique understanding of what our security agencies require, while his experience at the centre of Lagos governance enables him to appreciate the bigger picture,” Ogunsan said.

The LSSTF boss added that Ayinde’s presence on the Fund’s Board of Trustees has brought valuable experience and insight to its efforts to strengthen the capacity of security agencies across Lagos.

“On behalf of the LSSTF family, I celebrate a big brother, a leader and a true Lagosian. May God grant you greater wisdom, strength, good health and many more years of impactful service,” he added.

Born on August 24, 1964, Ayinde began his career in the security and intelligence sector, serving with the State Security Service until his retirement in 2009.

He subsequently became involved in political strategy and public administration before his appointment as Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in 2019. He has remained in the position through the governor’s second term.

His career has spanned intelligence, security, politics, administration and governance, earning him the sobriquet “Mr. Buffalo”, a name associated with his resilience and strategic approach to public service.

Ogunsan’s tribute also highlighted Ayinde’s role in supporting the political and administrative objectives of successive leadership structures in Lagos, as well as his commitment to public service.

As Ayinde marks his 62nd birthday, the LSSTF CEO described the occasion as more than a celebration of longevity, but an opportunity to recognise a career defined by service, institutional loyalty, strategic leadership and commitment to the security and development of Lagos State.
