Rite Foods Named Among Nigeria’s Top 50 Companies of Impact 2026
LAGOS, Nigeria — Rite Foods Limited has been recognised among Nigeria’s Top 50 Companies of Impact for 2026 at the Industry Newspaper Awards, in recognition of its contributions to economic growth, innovation, sustainability and community development.
The award celebrates Nigerian companies making measurable contributions to the country’s economic and social development through innovation, job creation, environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices.
Rite Foods was recognised for its investments in modern manufacturing infrastructure, technology, product development and sustainable operations, as well as its contribution to local value creation and the growth of Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
The company has built a diverse portfolio of consumer brands, including Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, Bigi Premium Drinking Water, Sosa Fruit Drinks, Fearless Energy Drink, Rite Spicy Beef Sausage, Bigi Beef Sausage and Bigi Flex Sausage.
Through continued product development, Rite Foods has introduced new flavours and packaging formats aimed at meeting changing consumer preferences while maintaining its focus on quality and affordability.
According to Goddie Ofose, Editor-in-Chief and Chief Executive Officer of Industry Newspaper, the recognition was based on the tangible economic, social and environmental value created by the companies selected for the award.
“The Top 50 Companies of Impact recognition is designed to celebrate organisations whose activities demonstrate tangible economic, social, and environmental value. Rite Foods distinguished itself through its commitment to innovation, sustainability, environmental preservation, and community development.”
Ofose also highlighted Rite Foods’ environmental sustainability initiatives, particularly its Waste-Is-Naira (W.I.N.) programme and Riteonthebeach project, which promote plastic waste recovery, environmental awareness and cleaner communities.
He said the initiatives demonstrate how corporate sustainability programmes can extend beyond business operations to address environmental challenges affecting communities.
The company’s energy strategy was also recognised, with Ofose noting that about 95 per cent of Rite Foods’ energy consumption comes from cleaner energy sources, including natural gas and solar power, while diesel accounts for approximately five per cent.
He said the energy mix has supported the company’s efforts to reduce its environmental footprint while improving operational efficiency.
Rite Foods’ corporate social responsibility initiatives in education, healthcare and economic empowerment were also commended for their contribution to community development across Nigeria.
Commenting on the award, Ekuma Eze, Head, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods Limited, said the recognition reflects the company’s commitment to creating value beyond its commercial operations.
“This honour is a reflection of the impact we are creating across multiple areas, from innovation and human capital development to community engagement, sustainability and support for initiatives that contribute to national development.”
Eze said innovation remains central to the company’s growth strategy, adding that investments in product development and manufacturing capabilities have strengthened its ability to respond to changing consumer needs and compete in Nigeria’s FMCG market.
“For us, innovation is not simply about introducing new products. It is about understanding consumers, investing in people and technology, improving our processes, and creating products and solutions that deliver value. This recognition reinforces our commitment to doing more.”
The latest recognition adds to a growing list of awards received by Rite Foods for its performance, leadership, innovation and sustainability initiatives.
The company said the recognition further reinforces its commitment to building a proudly Nigerian business operating to global standards while continuing to invest in innovation, people, communities, sustainability and the future of Nigeria’s consumer economy.
