Officers honoured after 35 years of meritorious service


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and the Oba of Lagos, HRM Oba Rilwan Osuolale Aremu Akiolu, have eulogised 24 retiring detectives and police officers of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos, for their dedication to national service.


The officers were honoured at an elaborate retirement celebration organised by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Fatai Tijani, to mark the culmination of 35 years of meritorious service.


The event provided an opportunity to recognise the retirees’ contributions to the Nigeria Police Force and their commitment to safeguarding lives and property.


Speaking through the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID, DCP Dayo Akinbisehin, the Lagos State Police Command applauded the officers for their selfless service, commitment and dedication to the nation over the years.


The Command acknowledged the wealth of experience and professional contributions the retiring officers had accumulated throughout their careers, describing their service as worthy of recognition and commendation.


The Oba of Lagos, who was represented at the event by the White Cap Chiefs, also lauded the outgoing officers for their years of dedicated service.


The monarch noted that their wealth of experience and selfless service delivery remained valuable to the nation, while commending them for their contributions to the security and stability of society.


The celebration underscored the importance of honouring officers who have devoted decades to public service and preserving the institutional knowledge they leave behind.
