 IGP Disu Returns to Ago-Iwoye Police Division Where He First Served as DPO

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu has returned to the Ago-Iwoye Police Division in Ogun State where he began his policing career as a Divisional Police Officer (DPO), describing the visit as a reflection on his journey from a young officer to the highest professional position in the Nigeria Police Force.

Disu, who recently visited the division, revisited his former office, the residence where he once lived and the farm he cultivated during his early years in service.

The visit provided an opportunity for the IGP to reconnect with the environment where he first tested his leadership abilities and assumed the responsibilities of a DPO.

Reflecting on the journey, Disu recalled the years of duty, discipline, professional growth and increasing responsibility that took him from Ago-Iwoye to Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The visit also served as a message to officers and men of the Force, particularly those at the beginning of their careers, that every accomplished officer was once a beginner.

Disu’s return to Ago-Iwoye highlighted the importance of service at every level, with the IGP reminding officers that no assignment is insignificant and that professional growth is built gradually through dedication and responsibility.

During the visit, he posed a question to officers:
