 JMG Marks World Cleanup Day, Advocates Clean Energy and Sustainable Waste Management

LAGOS — JMG Limited, a leading electro-mechanical company in Nigeria, has called for stronger environmental responsibility through effective waste management, responsible consumption and the adoption of cleaner energy solutions to promote healthier and more sustainable communities.

The company made the call as the world marks World Cleanup Day on September 20, with this year’s theme, “From Clean Plates to Clean Cities,” focusing attention on food waste, responsible consumption, the circular economy and sustainable urban waste management.

JMG said the theme aligns with its sustainability strategy, which combines community-based environmental initiatives with investments in cleaner and more efficient energy solutions.

The company highlighted its participation in a community clean-up exercise in Gbagada, Lagos, last year, where its management and employees joined residents to remove waste, promote proper waste separation and encourage collective responsibility for environmental protection.

According to JMG, environmental sustainability extends beyond the physical removal of waste to include the systems and choices that contribute to environmental protection, particularly how energy is generated and consumed.

The company pointed to its renewable energy projects as part of its contribution to cleaner and more reliable power solutions.

One of the projects is its solar hybrid power installation at the Agboyi-Ketu Primary Health Care Centre in Lagos, which provides electricity for critical healthcare services, including emergency care, maternity services, immunisation and diagnostic activities.

Speaking on JMG’s sustainability approach, the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Rabi Jammal, said the organisation was committed to applying innovation and technology to address environmental and social challenges.
