Lagos APC Names Ogunsan, Lakanu, Odumosu, 33 Others to Security, Intelligence Directorate for 2027 Campaign
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a 36-member Security and Intelligence Directorate for its Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 governorship election, with prominent security professionals including Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) Taiwo Lakanu and retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu named among its members.
The directorate also includes General Olumuyiwa Okunowo and other retired and serving security professionals, community stakeholders and political actors expected to contribute to the campaign council’s security coordination, intelligence gathering and stakeholder engagement activities.
Ogunsan, who is the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), brings experience in public safety and security administration to the committee, while Lakanu and Odumosu are retired senior police officers with extensive backgrounds in policing and security management.
According to the party’s structure, the Security and Intelligence Directorate will play a key role in coordinating security-related activities and supporting public peace and safety throughout the electioneering period for the governorship campaign of Dr. Kadri Hamzat.
The constitution of the directorate forms part of the APC’s preparations for the 2027 gubernatorial election in Lagos State, as political parties intensify their organisational activities ahead of the electoral cycle.
Other members of the 36-member directorate are Dr. Rasaq Balogun, retired Colonel Dele Oyefuga, Comrade Sola Omojuwa Omosebi, Mr. Sheriff Muhammed, Mr. Liasu Rasaq, FCA, and Honourable Wasiu Ogunlana.
The list also includes Mr. Sefiu Bello, Mr. Bolaji Idris Ariyo, Mr. Tunde Oyedeji, Mr. Fashesan, DCP, Mr. Kenny Motajo, Ms. Adesanya Tolulope Shared, Ms. Adedoyin Rojaiye and Mr. Sule Yusuf.
Others are Alhaji Gafar Owolabi, Mrs. Bamgbose Damilola Ajaja, Mr. Abdulrasaq Adewole, Mr. Opeyemi Ogunsakin, Mr. Yomi Jones, Mr. Niyi Olofin and Ms. Gbemisola Olusegun Kebku.
Also named are Mr. Wuzu Shakiru, Honourable Issa Folami, Comrade Rasaq Olokuoba, ACP Segun M. Odunlami, ACP Leke Smith and Prince Ifalade Oyekan.
Completing the membership are Ms. Ireti Ayomide Adewole, Mr. Ayo Adesanya, Mr. Adeyinka Isiaka, Mr. Adekunle Muritala and Chief Dayo Ariyo.
The formation of the directorate underscores the APC’s broader campaign preparations as the party mobilises its structures and personnel ahead of the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.
