 NPF Debunks Fake Announcement on Training of 50,000 Newly Recruited Police Constables

....The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has debunked a purported press release announcing the commencement of training for 50,000 newly recruited Police Constables, describing the document as fake and unauthorised.

The fake document, titled “IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu Directs Commencement of Training for 50,000 Newly Recruited Police Constables,” has been circulating online and purportedly bears the name and designation of the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu.

In a disclaimer issued by the Force, the Police said the publication was neither issued nor authorised by the Nigeria Police Force.

The Force urged members of the public, particularly candidates participating in the ongoing police recruitment process, to disregard the information contained in the purported statement.

According to the Police, candidates should rely exclusively on information published through the official Police recruitment portal and verified communication channels of the Nigeria Police Force for updates concerning the recruitment exercise.

The NPF further disclosed that it has commenced efforts to identify those responsible for producing and circulating the forged document.

“The Force is currently on the trail of the persons responsible for generating and circulating the false document and will take appropriate legal action against those found culpable,” the disclaimer stated.

The Police therefore advised members of the public to exercise caution and verify recruitment-related information through official channels to avoid falling victim to misleading or fraudulent announcements.

The disclaimer was signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu.
