APC Primaries: Election result not Declared at Ikorodu Constituency II

Representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refused to announce result of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  primary election held in Ikorodu Constituency II on Friday.

Although the election which was initially scheduled for 2pm on Thursday did not hold until Friday without any formal reason given by the party. One of the aspirants, Oluwatosin Onamade claimed he got information about the rescheduling of the poll via the Social Media. 

" We all waited all day for the election to began, only for us to wait all through the day without any sign of electoral officers or election materials, and no information was given by the party executives as to why the election won't take place." he told our correspondent

However, the election which was billed to start at 10am did not start until 3pm, while Journalists who had waited patiently for several hours were shut out of the venue, depriving them the chance to cover proceedings.

By 5pm, electoral officers were seen rushing out of the venue with result sheets. Further findings revealed that, they refused to announce outcome of the process. 

Some aspirants are not comfortable with the development. Onamade described the entire process as a shame. He said many of the delegates were not allowed to vote in the election despite that they're qualified to do so.

He said: some unknown delegates were given tags on Thursday, they came to the election venue on Friday with their tags on, my delegates were not given tags, neither were they allowed to participate in the election"

Members of the APC in the area are not sure about what will happen next, but some suspect a fraudulent consensus candidate may be announced and forced on the party like before.
