LET US CHOOSE COMPETENCE OVER SENTIMENT

On the issue of same religion ticket embarked on by the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who chose the former governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shetima as his running mate in the upcoming 2023 general elections. A former senator and also a member of Governor's Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos State, Senator Anthony Adefuye expressed his view on the matter while speaking with journalists at his office in Lekki. 

Senator Adefuye said, " maybe the ideal thing is Christian - Muslim ticket for the sake of it. But then, we have an extreme Muslim as the president and an extreme Christian as the vice president, is there any difference in the gorvernance since their emergence, have they make any impact? As the Christian benefitted for the fact that the vice president is a Christian or the Muslim also benefitted for the fact that the President is a Muslim? He said, "the fact is that we should vote for competent people, that is the only way we can have good goverment, not necessarily Muslim- Muslim or Christian- Christian ticket. 

"Any where in the world, this is the first place I'm hearing peering". There is no where in the world religion is considered in governance. The most important thing is that let us vote good people who can make a change in our lives and not decorative individuals, he concluded.
