The joint forum initiative for ethnic and value orientation, Northern Youth Frontier, Niger Delta Youth Congress, National movement from Democratic Change and 107Anti corruption crusade group held a peaceful protest in Lagos on Thursday as they demand the Efcc boss Abdulrasheed Bawa to step aside for investigation.

Comrade Israel Uwejeyan who delivered the speech on behalf of the group described the Efcc anti corrupt activities as a failure in the past eight years due to his inability to convict any suspects , he also highlighted some of the fraudulent activities alleged on the anti graft boss.
” Mr Bawa have being alleged before he took up the leadership of the commission , recently he was involved in  different cases of bribery of $2m in connection with Zamfara state governor Bello Matawella , expand large sum of amount about $300,000  for hotel and other activities which is beyond the income of a civil servants during a visit to mecca on Lesser Hajj, also he was involved in #25bn criminal charges against senator Danjuma Goje seven years ago and about 80%  cases  under his watch that have not being to court since his emergence”.

"Corruption is one of the most serious social and security challenges facing Nigeria today which is the more reason the president- elect Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu should see it as an existential matter that needs to be addressed and tackled robustly and defeated once for all."

"No nation can aspire to greatness or seek to remain secure and safe when corruption and other corrupt practices are
allowed to find their way into all its vital institutions including the agency saddled with the responsibility of fighting it."

The President-elect is reminded that National challenges such as corruption the country is faced with should not be treated with levity and condescension. Neither should action be limited to targeted individuals or tiers of government.

The groups called on the incoming administration of senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to make anti corruption his top priority as he begins with the anti graft office for proper sanitization and those involved should be prosecuted.
