Daylab School celebrate Culture day

The rich cultures of Nigeria were again on display, as Daylab Schools, Ikorodu, Lagos State, exhibited the country’s cultural heritage during its 2023, cultural Day.

In a symbolic depiction of traditional heritage, pupils, students, staff and parents were dressed in cultural attires. Different cultural songs and plays were rendered to the amusement of all.

On the high table is the LCDA chairman of Olajomehin Elder E Oladapo, Mrs Elisabeth Martin's, Alhaja Adenekan, Lion Tawa Afinju, Mr Tony Ichibe and prominent and outstanding Educationist- Mr Michael  Adedeji Ademola.

The event was spiced with an array of traditional food by parents and staffs. Proprietor and Chairman of the School, Lion Lady Funmi Alabi, urged Nigerians to place premium on the country’s diverse and rich cultural heritage, as culture is a way of life. She explained that Nigeria boasts of diverse rich cultures, with every ethnic group having unique culture with regards to language, dressing, food and shelter, among others.

She advised parents to inculcate good cultural heritage in their children, as they are the future leaders. She said: “Our political and social values have some cultural heritage that are transmitted from one generation to another. Culture is dynamic, which is why history and historical artefacts would continue to be relevant in spite of modernisation. 

Speaking to the press during the cultural day on the 19th of may at the school premises. Mrs Funmi shared her passion and insight about her school Daylab , according to her , daylab School is a vibrant and dynamic educational institution, dedicated to providing children with a stimulating and nurturing learning environment. Located in fast growing metropolitan city in Lagos State with good road network. 

She said the school started out in 2018 with the aim to support the working "class parents" to provide care and academic services while their children are not in school. The school offer services of Drop-in, After school,  summer trips, computer training. 

Daylab have the 21st century well equipped lab and good serene atmosphere for students to learn in a conducive environment despite our moderate fees. We creates a curriculum that caters to students interest and abilities.
