AYEDATIWA DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER TO REMOVE THE CABINET MEMBERS - BARR. AJISAFE.

Barr. Ajisafe, a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Ondo State, emphasized that Acting Governor Aiyedatiwa lacks the authority (ius agenda) to dismiss any cabinet member appointed by the absent governor. Ajisafe made these remarks on Adaba FM's "Heart of Matter" radio program, addressing the challenges faced by Ondo State in the absence of its governor.

The political vacuum created by the governor's absence has led to many disruptions in social and economic activities, fueled by opportunistic individuals seeking power without regard for the state's well-being. However, the now Acting Governor Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is a constitutional designate of the leader in place of the governor when absent, appears indifferent to fostering peace, progress, and development, as he seems more focused on personal interests to the detriment of the state.

Aiyedatiwa's apparent desire and attitude toward his superior (Governor Akeredolu) raises concerns, especially considering his reluctance to defend the administration when attacked publicly. As the acting governor, his role should be to maintain a status quo and prevent further political turbulence, rather than pursuing personal agendas that may perpetuate the state's instability.

Ajisafe concludes that the Acting Governor should perform the assigned function in place of the governor by maintaining and coordinating the status quo, and prioritize progress of the state over self-interest.
