YORUBA COUNCIL WORLDWIDE COMMISERATES WITH THE OYO STATE GOVERNMENT ON THE SAD EXPLOSION 

YORUBA COUNCIL WORLDWIDE COMMISERATES WITH THE OYO STATE GOVERNMENT ON THE SAD EXPLOSION  .....DEMANDS FG TO SET UP SPECIAL ANTI-ILLEGAL MINERS TASK FORCE. 

The Yoruba Council Worldwide commiserate with the good people of Oyo State and the Executive Governor of Oyo State on the devastating bomb blast resulting to grave loss of lives and properties on 16th January, 2024.

In this critical mourning period, we commiserate in solidarity with the Oyo State Government and the good people of the State on this sad occurrence. 

We strongly believe in  President Bola Tinubu’s decision to conduct robust due diligent investigation to be carried out in unravelling and establishing the remote cause responsible for this devastating and painful blast causing monumental loss of precious lives and valuable properties, while adequate steps must be taken to forestall future occurrence. 

We equally use this medium to commiserate with the families of the victims, both dead and injured, while using this medium to commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his swift sound medical care and emergency accommodation for victims and welfare accorded the injured wherever they are being treated.

We strongly appeal for continuous action on the provision of adequate security and forensic assessments, as well ensure  reconstruction and rehabilitation of the damaged buildings by the Oyo State Government and Federal Government, while soliciting private and corporate supports and interventions in the area of provision of relief materials and  palliative supports for the vulnerable bomb blast victims. 

As part of measures to cub illegal mining across Oyo State and by extension Nigeria, we plead with the Federal Government to establish special ANTI-ILLEGAL MINING TASK FORCE in every local government in order to guarantee protection of lives and resources in Nigeria forthwith. 

May God Almighty grant the souls of the deceased ones and grant their families and friends the  fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, and grant the injured speedy and sound recovery as well.
