Children’s Day Celebration: Hon. Olowa Reignites the Glorious Days of March Past, Urges Children to Stay Focused
In a vibrant celebration at Elemoro Junior High School, students from various primary and secondary schools gathered at the mini stadium to mark Children’s Day with a resplendent march past, accompanied by the Army band from Abalti Signals Barrack.
The event saw a diverse assembly of traditional royal fathers, members of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), civil society groups, market women, representatives from the Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans (LASCOTA), political leaders, paramilitary organizations, and the general public.
Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, the Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, addressed the attendees, emphasizing that discipline is crucial for success. He highlighted his administration's commitment to holistic child development, noting the local government's initiatives in the education sector. These include providing free exercise books, offering imprest to primary school teachers, maintaining school premises, and organizing inter-school contests. Hon. Olowa also assured that his administration is dedicated to the provision, promotion, and protection of children’s rights.
Furthermore, Hon. Olowa called upon the international community to safeguard the rights of children, particularly those in war-torn regions who face uncertain futures.

The highlight of the event was a parade featuring traditional royal fathers, led by the Onisolu of Solu Alade, Oba Muhideen Adebowale Balogun. Other participants, including women leaders and NULGE members, also took part in the parade.
The occasion was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, and other executive members such as Hon. Olamilekan Higara, Hon. Abidemi Aromire Razaq (ARA), Hon. Ajiwole Shefiu, Hon. Babatunde Ogungbo, Hon. Balogun Kazeem Olugbenga, Apex Leader Hon. Balogun Logun, Hon. Babatunde Shittu, the Council Manager Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa, and the entire management team.
