LASEPA, LASG Safety Commission, NUPENG-LPGRA Commiserate with Council Chairman Following Gas Explosion

In response to the tragic gas explosion incident at Abule Panu on May 7th, 2024, representatives from the Lagos State Safety Commission, led by Director General Mr. Lanre Omojola, and the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), under the guidance of Dr. Tunde Ajayi, paid a visit to Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki LGA, to offer condolences on behalf of the Lagos State Government (LASG).
Accompanied by the council chairman, officials from these agencies surveyed the explosion site and visited the hospital to assess the condition of victims receiving treatment.
Additionally, the National President of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Retailers Association and representatives from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) also extended sympathies and evaluated the situation firsthand at the council chairman's office.
In a joint effort, the Lagos State Safety Commission, LASEPA, LPG Retail Association, and NMDPRA announced plans to launch a rigorous campaign targeting illegal gas retail stations and operators within the Local Government Area in the coming weeks.
