Retired ACG Hammi Swomen Bows Out of Service with Dignity
On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, the Nigeria Customs Zone ‘A’ Headquarters hosted a dignified retirement and handing over ceremony to honor the illustrious career of Assistant Comptroller-General Zone ‘A’, Hammi Swomen. Comptroller Oluremi Omisore, in her welcoming address, praised Swomen as an exceptional leader with numerous commendable qualities.
Amidst a gathering of controllers at the Zonal Headquarters in Ikeja, glowing tributes were paid to Swomen, portraying him as a man of few words yet profound wisdom, and a consummate professional well-versed in the intricacies of the Nigeria Customs Service. His gentlemanly demeanor and compassionate leadership style were also commended.
In his response, Swomen expressed gratitude to God, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, colleagues, and the entire Zone ‘A’ management for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. He emphasized the importance of mentoring younger officers to bridge the generational gap within the Service and concluded with blessings for the future leadership.
In a gracious vote of thanks, the incoming Zonal Coordinator ‘A’, ACG Saidu Yusuf, hailed Swomen's outstanding qualities, describing him as principled, hardworking, and intelligent. Yusuf, who succeeds Swomen, expressed admiration for his predecessor's dedication and wished him continued health and happiness in retirement.
