LETI Holds Intensive Training for LASPA Enforcement Unit
The Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI), a renowned agency in Lagos State specializing in training law enforcement officers in interpersonal relationships, safety precautions, and other critical skills, recently held a two-day event to train the enforcement unit of the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA).
Speaking to journalists, Olori Mrs. Abiola Adeyinka, the CEO of LETI, emphasized the importance of such training programs for law enforcement officers. She highlighted that LETI was established during the tenure of former Lagos State Governor Barr. Babatunde Raji Fashola to enhance the skills of officers from various agencies, including LASTMA, KAI, Neighborhood Watch, and other Lagos State law enforcement bodies. The focus areas of their training include interpersonal relationships, safety precautions, and administering first aid to Lagosians when necessary.
Mrs. Adeyinka also mentioned LETI’s role in monitoring and evaluating the performance of trained officers to ensure they carry out their duties effectively. She urged Lagosians to exercise caution and refrain from attacking officers on duty, stressing the importance of mutual respect.

During the two-day event for the LASPA enforcement unit, Mrs. Adeyinka reiterated the need for LASPA officers to prioritize safety and maintain good relationships with the public during their operations. The training aimed to equip officers with local intelligence and critical thinking skills essential for their roles.
One of the facilitators, Mrs. Taiwo Bonne, a distinguished lawyer from the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, addressed the complexity of the law and the necessity of proper training for law enforcement officers to perform their core duties effectively. She emphasized the need for synergy among various law enforcement agencies in the state to ensure excellent service delivery.

The training covered several crucial topics, including enforcement procedures, effectiveness, efficiency, emotional intelligence, resilience at work, and basic emergency response plans. These sessions aimed to prepare officers to meet the challenges of their roles and contribute to keeping Lagos State on the world map as a 21st-century, highly developed state of excellence.
This comprehensive training by LETI reflects a significant step towards enhancing the capabilities of LASPA enforcement officers, ensuring they are well-equipped to serve the community effectively and maintain the highest standards of law enforcement in Lagos State.
