Female Biker Killed in Container Truck Accident in Lagos
Lagos, Nigeria - A tragic accident early this morning resulted in the death of a female biker after a containerized truck lost control and overturned on her at the Iganmu Bridge.

The incident, confirmed by Hon. Sola Giwa, Special Adviser to the Governor, occurred around 6:15 am near Sifax inward Iganmu Bridge. According to preliminary reports, the driver of the speeding truck lost control while descending the bridge, causing the truck to fall onto the female biker.

The truck driver fled the scene following the accident.

Responders from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Lasema Response Unit (LRU) swiftly arrived at the site to manage the rescue operation. The body of the deceased was recovered and transported by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), while the truck was cleared from the bridge to restore traffic flow.

Security during the rescue was provided by officers from Ijora Badia.

Hon. Giwa extended his condolences to the victim's family and urged truck drivers to observe speed limits and traffic regulations. He also called on motorcycle operators to adhere to the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018 for their safety and the safety of others.
