Lagos, Nigeria – July 9, 2024– In a significant move towards fostering self-reliance among grassroots youth, the Forum of Progressive Youth in the All Progressive Congress (APC) has inaugurated its first Enterprise Skill Development Training Program. The initiative aims to cultivate new business owners and entrepreneurs for the future.

Call for Stakeholder Engagement

Mayoress Semiat Bada, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi Isheri Local Government, underscored the need for relevant stakeholders to engage youth in all facets of career independence. Speaking at the forum in Lagos, Hon. Bada described the program as an essential wake-up call for today’s youth. She emphasized, "I have taken it upon myself to ensure that wherever I go, I implore the youth to seize the opportunities of their generation. Determination is key to achieving dreams, and as leaders of tomorrow, it is crucial for youth to follow the right path to establish a better world."

 Empowering the Next Generation

Mayoress Bada urged the youth to avoid being used as tools for creating disorder. Instead, she encouraged them to capitalize on opportunities to establish themselves in ways that contribute positively to society. "The goal is to bring forth more billionaires who will enhance the community," she said.

Additionally, she advised Nigerian youth to be proactive in all areas of political engagement and to avoid being manipulated by politicians into committing acts that could jeopardize their future. "I will always ensure that the youth in Ikosi Isheri LCDA receive the best support in their areas of specialization, complementing my drive for a better enterprising environment," Mayoress Semiat Bada affirmed.
