Nigeria Customs Service Alerts Public on Fraudulent Activities by Impersonators on Social Media

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has issued a warning regarding the increasing activities of fraudsters on social media platforms. These fraudulent individuals are posing as representatives of the NCS, deceiving the public with false claims of auctions and recruitment drives.

The NCS clarified that all auctions of seized or overtime goods are not conducted through social media. Any such claims should be regarded as fraudulent. The service adheres to a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for disposing of these goods, in accordance with the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023. The only legitimate portal for NCS e-auctions is https://auction.nigeriatradehub.gov.ng.
