The 8th edition of the Senator Anthony Adefuye Football Competition reached a thrilling conclusion at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Sports Complex. This year’s tournament, which kicked off the celebration of Senator Anthony Adefuye's 80th birthday, saw six teams compete fiercely for the coveted trophy.

Senator Adefuye, a well-known sports enthusiast, grassroots development advocate, and philanthropist, inaugurated this tournament eight years ago. His aim was to nurture young football talents and provide them with a platform to showcase their skills.

The grand finale was marked by the presence of several dignitaries, sports enthusiasts, and supporters who filled the UNILAG Sports Complex to capacity. They gathered not only to witness the intense matches but also to celebrate the life and exemplary leadership of Senator Adefuye.

The day's events began with an electrifying novelty match between FC Phoenix Queens from Apapa Iganmu and Jagunmolu Queens from Bariga.
