LASTMA Rescues Driver as Gas Tanker Overturns at Anthony Oke, Lagos
In a swift and coordinated response, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) rescued the driver of an overturned gas tanker earlier today at Anthony Oke, along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway. The incident occurred as the tanker, fully loaded with gas, was heading toward Gbagada.

LASTMA personnel, led by General Manager Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area, ensuring the safety of motorists and nearby residents. The tanker driver, who sustained hand injuries, was promptly rescued and is currently receiving medical attention.

Emergency responders from the Lagos State Fire Service and the Lasema Response Unit (LRU) were also mobilized to the site. Their combined efforts were instrumental in containing the situation and preventing any further hazards.
Mr. Bakare-Oki confirmed that the tanker and its contents were safely evacuated, restoring normal traffic flow towards Gbagada, Iyana-Oworo, Car Wash, Ifako, and Toll Gate. He emphasized the importance of citizen safety and commended the cooperation of all involved parties.
