AIG Fayoade M. Adegoke Assumes Duty as 32nd Assistant Inspector General of Police at Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Calls for Support and Cooperation
AIG Fayoade Mustapha Adegoke, mni, psc, has officially taken over as the 32nd Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos. He succeeds AIG Olatoye Durosinmi, who retired on August 19, 2024.

Hailing from Ila-Orangun in Osun State's Ila Local Government Area, AIG Fayoade joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on May 18, 1992. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Lagos, a Diploma in Political Science, an LLB (Hons) from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Lagos.

With a distinguished career in policing, AIG Fayoade is recognized as a seasoned officer, strategist, and crime fighter, having served the Force in various capacities. Before his promotion to AIG and his posting to oversee the Zone 2 Command, which includes Lagos and Ogun States, he served as the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State.

In his new role, AIG Fayoade calls on the residents of Lagos and Ogun States for their full support and cooperation. He assures the public of a proactive, intelligence-based, and citizen-friendly policing approach that adheres to the rule of law.
