CEDEC International Schools Visits Hon. Olowa Ahead of Independence Day Celebration

As part of the Independence Day celebration activities, staff and student representatives of CEDEC International Schools, led by Principal Mrs. Caroline Mbabie, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, at his office.

The visit featured an interactive session where the students engaged Hon. Olowa on the roles and responsibilities of local government administration. The Chairman, visibly pleased by the students' interest, spoke extensively about the functions of the government, urging the students to be disciplined and hardworking, as these are essential traits for success in life. He emphasized, "Studying, discipline, and hard work are the true hallmarks of success."

The event included a guard of honor mounted by the school's brigade and an 8-man band that rendered the National Anthem in tribute to Hon. Olowa. The Chairman also used the occasion to give the students a tour of the Council Secretariat, showcasing key projects such as the "KekeJaja" tricycle scheme for garbage collection, the new Secretariat complex, and the legislative building.

Among those present at the event were the Supervisor for Education, Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan, Supervisor for Health, Hon. Tajudeen Oniwonlu, Chief of Staff, Mr. Issa Moruf Olayinka, and other staff members, including School Superintendent Mrs. Victoria Meorah, Chief Examination Officer Ms. Olajumoke Olaniyi, and Chairperson of the CEDEC Disciplinary Committee, Mr. Mathew Aliu.
