In the early hours of today, a devastating multi-vehicle accident occurred on the Odo Iya-Alaro Bridge around 12:30 AM, resulting in one fatality and 17 injuries.
Preliminary reports reveal that a Mack truck, registration number KWL 923 XB, was transporting diesel when the driver lost control while speeding towards Ojota. Attempting to stop with faulty brakes, the truck collided with seven other vehicles, including buses and cars, causing significant damage.

LASTMA personnel efficiently cleared the wreckage to restore traffic flow and prevent additional congestion.
