Hon. Olowa Inspects Cleared Labora-Owode Canal, Urges Residents on Proper Waste Disposal
The Executive Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, conducted an inspection of the recently cleared Labora-Owode canal, alongside adjoining communities, during a site assessment today. He was accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, and other cabinet members.
The inspection tour, which extended into the interior of the Labora-Owode community, also took the team to Gbetu and the Container Bus Stop, where Hon. Olowa engaged with residents. During the visit, it was discovered that some individuals had erected barricades along the canal, obstructing the free flow of water.
Addressing the press, Hon. Olowa called on residents to adhere to environmental laws and avoid practices that could lead to pollution and disrupt the ecosystem. He expressed appreciation to those maintaining cleanliness in their communities and urged them to continue their efforts.
Hon. Olowa also assured residents that the State Government would intervene soon to address flooding concerns, aiming to make flooding a thing of the past in Ibeju Lekki.
