AIG Fayoade Adegoke Pays Courtesy Visit to Oba of Lagos, Reaffirms Commitment to Crime Fighting
The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) for Zone 2 Command, comprising Lagos and Ogun States, Fayoade M. Adegoke, has pledged continued dedication to crime prevention, rule of law, and community engagement during a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Alayeluwa Oba Rilwan Akiolu.
The visit took place at the Iga Idunganran Palace on Thursday, October 3, 2024, where the AIG sought the blessings and counsel of the revered monarch. Oba Akiolu, accompanied by the White Cap Chiefs, warmly received the AIG, praising him for his exceptional service to the nation.
During the meeting, which lasted about an hour, Oba Akiolu commended AIG Adegoke’s patriotism and his stellar career, noting his longstanding reputation as a disciplined, incorruptible, and proactive police officer. The monarch mentioned that he had closely followed the AIG's career since his days as Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Bar Beach Police Station, hailing him for his commitment to maintaining law and order.
In his response, AIG Adegoke expressed gratitude for the support he received during his tenure as Lagos Commissioner of Police and vowed to continue his efforts to uphold law enforcement across Lagos and Ogun States. He reiterated his dedication to fighting crime and fostering community collaboration in policing, ensuring safety and security within his zone.
