As Nigeria marks 64 years of independence, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Ibeju-Lekki and all Nigerians.
In his message, Olowa reflected on the country’s journey since gaining independence in 1960, acknowledging the significant events that have shaped Nigeria’s history, including periods of military rule, civil war, and the eventual transition to democracy in 1999. He commended the resilience and patriotism of Nigerians, which have kept the nation united through these challenges.
“Our collective patriotism and faith in the greatness of Nigeria have been the bedrock of our unity. On this 64th Independence Anniversary, I salute the resilience, patience, and understanding of all Nigerians, especially during these times of economic reforms aimed at securing the long-term prosperity of our nation,” Olowa stated.
He urged citizens to continue supporting the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as they work towards building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria and Lagos State.
Olowa concluded by expressing his hopes for the continued unity and prosperity of Nigeria, wishing everyone a happy Independence Day.
