LASTMA Gears Up for Traffic Management During the Festive Season – Hon. Sola Giwa Assures Lagosians
In preparation for the upcoming yuletide season, Hon. Sola Giwa, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, has assured residents of the government's robust plans to manage traffic effectively. Speaking at the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) Headquarters in Oshodi, Hon. Giwa emphasized that the agency's officers would be strategically deployed across the city to ensure smooth traffic flow during the busy festive period.

Acknowledging the annual surge in vehicular movement and commercial activity during the holiday season, Giwa stressed the critical role of LASTMA in maintaining order on Lagos roads. He highlighted the state’s commitment to traffic discipline and safety as more residents and visitors prepare for travel.

“The yuletide season brings increased activity, and with it, challenges related to traffic congestion. However, Lagosians can rest assured that LASTMA officers will be on ground to ensure smooth traffic control, mitigate gridlock, and guarantee the safety of all road users,” Giwa stated.

He outlined that LASTMA officers would be on high alert at key traffic points and corridors, ensuring prompt response to any disruptions. He also appealed to motorists to cooperate with LASTMA officials and adhere to traffic rules during the festive rush.

“Our goal is to make this yuletide as seamless as possible for everyone. Traffic management is a shared responsibility, and we urge all Lagosians to exercise patience and follow traffic regulations,” he added.

The Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, continues to prioritize transportation infrastructure and traffic management, particularly during peak travel periods. With LASTMA’s heightened presence and preparedness, Lagosians can look forward to safer and more efficient roads during the festive season and beyond.

Motorists are reminded to call the LASTMA toll-free hotline (080000527862) for immediate assistance with any traffic-related issues.
