Area II Command, Onne, Honored as Best in Anti-Smuggling at CGC Awards
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Area II Command, Onne, has been recognized as the best in anti-smuggling activities at the recently held Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) Award and Gala Night.
The prestigious award was presented in acknowledgment of the Command’s remarkable efforts in safeguarding public health and safety through the interception of illicit items, including arms, ammunition, and drugs, which posed significant threats to the nation.
Speaking on the achievement, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Mohammed Babandede, attributed the success to teamwork and collective dedication.
“This award is not about me; it is a testament to the hard work and commitment of every officer and personnel in this Command,” Babandede said. “Without their contributions, we would not have achieved this milestone. Together, we have made significant strides in ensuring the safety of lives and the protection of public health.”
He further expressed his gratitude to all officers for their unrelenting efforts in combating smuggling activities and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to its duty of protecting the nation from harmful goods.
