LASTMA Officers Rescue Private Bus Driver in Near-Fatal Apapa Collision
Lagos, Nigeria* — Officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) showcased their commitment to public safety by rescuing a private bus driver from a near-fatal accident in Apapa. The incident occurred when a white bus, with the registration RBC 945 TT, suffered a critical brake failure and crashed into a central road median near Area B, at the intersection with Point Road.
Witnesses report that the LASTMA officers, stationed nearby, immediately responded to the emergency, arriving at the scene in moments. With swift action and teamwork, they safely extricated the injured driver from the wreckage. Their quick-thinking efforts not only stabilized the driver before the arrival of emergency responders but also minimized traffic disruption along the busy route.
After securing the scene, the LASTMA personnel transferred the driver into the care of Area B Police officers, who then transported him to Apapa General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
