Anambra State Approves Medical Expenses for Brutality Victim, Governor Soludo Condemns Assault
The Anambra State Executive Council, led by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has approved the payment of medical expenses for Mr. Okechukwu Akaneme, a victim of brutality allegedly inflicted by contractors of the Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA).
In a humanitarian gesture, Governor Soludo personally ensured that the victim's medical bills are covered, while also condemning the contractors' reprehensible behavior. To emphasize the government’s zero tolerance for such misconduct, the contractor responsible for the assault has been immediately dismissed from ASWAMA, setting a clear example for others.
According to a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, Mr. Akaneme is currently hospitalized, receiving treatment for his injuries. The state government, while sympathizing with the Akaneme family, has pledged its unwavering support and prayed for his swift recovery.
Governor Soludo’s intervention demonstrates his administration's commitment to addressing challenges with compassion and delivering hope and solutions to the people of Anambra State.
