Brila Media Refutes Allegations, Exposes Criminal Activities Within Organization
Brila Media, Nigeria's leading sports radio network, has issued an official response to recent allegations circulating on social media, describing them as baseless and part of a deliberate campaign of calumny orchestrated by individuals implicated in criminal activities within the organization.
In a statement released by its management, Brila Media disclosed that investigations uncovered acts of financial misconduct, including the diversion of funds, invoice fabrication, unauthorized receipt of payments, and system manipulation, resulting in losses exceeding N150 million over several years. Following these discoveries, the matter was referred to law enforcement agencies, leading to interrogations, confessions, and ongoing investigations.
The company noted that some of the suspects, in an apparent bid to evade justice, have launched a smear campaign against Brila Media and its founder, Dr. Larry Izamoje. This campaign, the statement claims, includes social media vilification and attempts to blackmail the organization by portraying it as insensitive to employees' welfare.
“This appears to be a defensive effort to mitigate their criminal exposure and escape justice. We have endured their unjustifiable malicious and digital excoriation as a law-abiding organization while awaiting the conclusion of the appropriate authority’s investigations,” the statement read.
Brila Media emphasized its commitment to professionalism, corporate governance, and value creation for all stakeholders, including employees. It stated unequivocally that criminal activities will not be condoned, regardless of the tactics employed by those implicated.
The company assured that, at the appropriate time, the identities of those involved in these fraudulent activities would be revealed. In the meantime, it urged its business partners, listeners, and fans to disregard the false narratives being peddled online, reaffirming its position as their trusted and reliable sports radio network.
“We remain committed to delivering premium content and maintaining the trust of our partners, fans, and stakeholders,” the statement concluded.
