Hon. Olowa Delivers Keynote Lecture at NYCN Youth Conference 2024
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Epe Local Branch, today hosted its 2024 Youth Conference, featuring the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, as the keynote speaker and special guest.
Accompanied by Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan, Supervisor for Education; Comrade Oladimeji Ibrahim, Senior Special Assistant; and Hon. Olaomopo Ayeola, the event brought together students from various schools and representatives of youth organizations across the region.
In his keynote address, themed "One Future, One World: Leveraging Diversity for Self-Sustaining Success," Hon. Olowa urged the youth to embrace the future by honing their skills and experiences. "As individuals, when you possess diverse skills and experiences, they position you for growth, give you an advantage, and make you unique," he said.
The council chairman introduced the VRIO framework (Value, Rarity, Imitability, and Organization) as a strategic tool to analyze resources and capabilities, emphasizing how it can provide a sustained competitive advantage when properly utilized.
Hon. Olowa also highlighted the importance of leveraging diversity, encouraging the youth to recognize their uniqueness, build strong relationships, and create lasting success. "Our diversity is an advantage, and when we use it to make impactful contributions, we pave the way for sustainable success," he added.
Other dignitaries at the event included Comrade Tijani Saheed, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Wealth Creation, and Mr. Giwa Moore, SSA on Technical and Vocational Education Board, among others.
The conference served as a platform to inspire young people to embrace innovation, collaboration, and resilience in achieving their goals.
