The grand finale of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Chairman's Cup took place last Saturday, with the Iba-Oloja community emerging as champions after an electrifying match that brought the tournament to an exciting close.

In his address, the Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Sesan Olowa, emphasized the importance of the competition as a platform to discover and nurture young talents in the community.
“The primary aim of this tournament is to identify raw talents within our communities and groom them into future football stars. Sports have a transformative power, and through initiatives like this, we are giving our youth the tools to dream big and achieve greatness,” Hon. Olowa said.
He further revealed plans to establish a football academy in collaboration with Sail Innovation Lab, spearheaded by Senator Tokunbo Abiru. The academy will provide young athletes with structured training, resources, and opportunities to develop their skills and pursue professional careers in sports.

We are proud of what we’ve achieved so far and look forward to expanding this initiative,” the SLG remarked.
