Soludo's Crackdown on Crime Makes Anambra One of Nigeria’s Safest States in 2024

Anambra State has been ranked among the states with the lowest crime rates in Nigeria, according to the 2024 Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey (CESPS) by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). This milestone is attributed to Governor Charles Soludo’s robust security initiatives.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo’s administration was lauded for its unwavering commitment to tackling insecurity in the state. Through strategic investments in law enforcement, improved logistics, consistent funding, and a revamped security network, the government has successfully curbed criminal activities.

A key highlight of Soludo’s approach is the forthcoming launch of a comprehensive security framework, code-named Operation UDO GA-ACHI (Operation Peace Shall Reign). The initiative, set to commence next year, will deploy 163 operational vehicles to bolster security operatives in the fight against crime. This move aligns with the administration's determination to establish a lasting peace in the state.

Governor Soludo has also extended a two-month amnesty program, encouraging criminals to surrender and undergo rehabilitation. Those who refuse to comply, the government warns, will face decisive action.

Upon assuming office, Governor Soludo inherited a dire security situation in Anambra, with communities plagued by attacks from unknown gunmen. Through concerted efforts and collaboration with security agencies, the administration has confronted these challenges head-on, restoring peace and stability across the state.

The government emphasized that achieving sustainable security requires collective action. Citizens have been urged to support the administration’s efforts through intelligence sharing, community vigilance, and constructive dialogue between the government and stakeholders. Additionally, depoliticizing security issues and fostering unity among Anambra’s residents remain crucial.

As Anambra solidifies its position as one of Nigeria's safest states, Governor Soludo’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property continues to set a benchmark for proactive governance in the country.
