Soludo's Infrastructure Drive Gains Momentum as ANSEC Approves Strategic Road Projects Across Anambra

The Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has approved a series of major road construction projects, further advancing Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo's infrastructure development agenda. The projects, worth billions of naira, aim to enhance connectivity, tackle erosion challenges, and transform Anambra into a livable and prosperous mega-city.

Among the newly approved projects is the Trans-Nkisi Boulevard 1 Road in GRA Onitsha, valued at N2.1 billion and awarded to Paul-B Nig Ltd. According to the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, the project is expected to be completed in six months and will improve access across communities within the state.

Another critical project is the Nanka-Aguluzigbo-Umuona Road, spanning 8.906 km and addressing flood and erosion concerns. This N7.5 billion project has been awarded to IDC Construction Company with a 12-month completion timeline.

Major Road Projects Across LGAs

ANSEC has also approved the following key projects:

• Mbaukwu-Awgbu-Amaetiti-Okpaeze Road: Measuring 16.37 km and featuring a 22-meter bridge, this N10.95 billion project has been awarded to Cossel Construction Ltd, with completion expected in 18 months.
• Azigbo-Awka Etiti-Amichi-Onuselogu Road: Spanning 4.56 km and covering three local government areas, this project includes a spur to Diocesan Hospital Amichi and is set to be completed in eight months.
• Igboukwu-Amichi-Ekwulummili Road: This 3.57 km road, connecting Aguata and Nnewi South LGAs, will be delivered within six months.
• Nteje-Otuocha Road: Approved for construction to improve connectivity in the area.

Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Efforts

Additional projects include the rehabilitation of the 19.1 km Awkuzu-Igbariam-Anaku Ring Road, strategic road networks in Omagba, Onitsha, and the 1.6 km New Market Road, Onitsha. The Aguleri Uno to Aguleri Otu Road has also been prioritized for reconstruction.

Boost for Health and Education

In the health sector, ANSEC has approved the supply and installation of modern equipment and furniture at the Anambra State College of Health Technology, Obosi, underscoring the administration’s commitment to quality healthcare.

On education, the development of 22 smart schools across the 21 local government areas of the state has also been given the green light, further highlighting Governor Soludo’s dedication to modernizing the education sector.

These infrastructure and development projects align with Soludo’s vision to drive economic growth, improve living standards, and position Anambra as a model state for urban and rural development.
